ZEPHYRHILLS – The Zephyrhills Bulldogs ended their regular season Wednesday in fine fashion by defeating the Cypress Creek Coyotes on Senior Night. The team recognized seniors Brenden Ichimura, Cherokee Hagans, Drew Brown, Kolbe Lupinek, Kyle Straussner, Try Owens, Zach Deloreto and Zachery Nova.

The Coyotes were held to just three hits, all singles by Spencer Lozano, Jared Burkardt and Nolan Jamison. Burkardt had the lone RBI for Cypress Creek in the third inning.

With the game in hand, coach Rusty Guynn had Cherokee Hagans finish the game on the mound with his brother Brian doing the catching, a combination that most likely will never be repeated.

The Bulldogs will begin the FHSAA 6A, District 7 playoff tournament at River Ridge High School Next Monday. Cypress Creek will travel to Fivay to take on the Falcons in 5A, District 7 tournament play.
