WESLEY CHAPEL – The Cypress Creek Coyotes (0-1) visited the Ranch Wednesday night and ran into a determined Lady Bulls squad that put up 6 runs in the fourth inning to go on to a 9-2 win in the Coyotes season opener.

After being shutout 4-0 by an outstanding Land O’ Lakes Gators squad Tuesday night, the Lady Bulls found their bats Wednesday to score 6 runs in the fourth inning to notch their first regular season win.

Wiregrass Ranch opened the scoring in the second via a fielder’s choice, RBI by Kimmy Cheung that scored Lexi Gaiefsky. The Coyotes returned the favor in the top of the third with a 2-out single by Jasmine Jackson that scored Emma Coon to tie the game.

The Bulls fourth inning rally, aided by two Cypress Creek errors, produced 6 runs that the Coyotes would never recover from. Singles by Brianna Baer, Ashtin Jordan and Loryn Finn started the inning. Following an error by Coyotes’ Payton Hudson, Gaiefsky doubled scoring two more.

For the Coyotes, Coon was the only hitter to register a multi-hit performance. Colorado State D-1 commit catcher Neely Peterson, who has not played since July due to injury, shook off the rust with a double off the center field fence in the sixth.
