WESLEY CHAPEL — The Cypress Creek Coyotes (2-3) lost their home game this Friday to the Mitchell Mustangs (4-1).

It was a rough start for the Coyotes. Their kick off puttered one yard, lending Mitchell an early advantage. Within a few minutes, the Mustangs ran the ball and scored their first touchdown.

The first quarter saw further misfortune for Cypress Creek: an interception, penalties, and more touchdowns by Mitchell. In particular, Rob Graham snagged a 45-yard pass and rushed it in for the Mustangs’ third TD.

The Coyotes ran in the first TD of the second quarter, and scored each quarter from there.

Though Cypress Creek made gains, the Mustangs’ reflexive defense and massive plays in the third and fourth quarters sealed the coffin. Mitchell intercepted a tipped ball for a 95-yard return and touchdown. Then they launched a 61-yard pass for another TD.

Final score: 28-55, Mustangs.

Up next: The Coyotes will travel to face the Mulberry Panthers (1-3), and the Mustangs will play home against the East Lake Eagles (3-2).
