HUDSON – Each year the Fellowship of Christian Athletes puts on All-Star games for the High Schools in Pasco County, to give the senior stars one more opportunity to shine. The games are held in December for Football and in May for Baseball and now Softball as well.

Saturday marked the second annual Baseball All-Star Contest and the inaugural Softball game between the Stars of the West from Bishop McLaughlin, Fivay, Gulf, Hudson, Mitchell, Ridgewood and River Ridge and the East all-stars from Land O’ Lakes, Pasco, Sunlake, Wesley Chapel, Wiregrass Ranch and Zephyrhills.

The Softball game was a come-from-behind victory taking the contest 9-7 in nine innings. Both the East and West coaches decided to play the game out to nine innings to give the girls a little more opportunity to shine in their last high school contest of their career.

The Land O’ Lakes Gators are the exception to that last statement since they will be returning to the FHSAA Softball FINAL FOUR in Vero Beach next week with a chance to repeat as the FHSAA 6A State Champions. Good luck to the Gators and Coach Mitch Wilkins. CSSN and Pasco County wish you the best!
