HOLIDAY – The Anclote Sharks (2-6) lost at home to the Zephyrhills Bulldogs (4-3). The Sharks couldn’t quite gain the same rushing momentum as the Bulldogs, who won the game 14-40.

Zephyrhills ran the ball in for an early touchdown in the first quarter. Zyree Roundtree, Bulldogs’ running back, rushed fifteen yards for their second TD.

The Sharks capitalized on fumbles by the Bulldogs. The first one allowed linebacker Sheldon Marcelle to complete a 26-yard return and score for Anclote. Zephyrhills fumbled again in the third. This time, running back Thomas Crawford completed a 60-yard return touchdown.

Though Anclote tied-up the game in the third, the Bulldogs bulldozed in two more rushing touchdowns, ending the half 27-14.

Zephyrhills completed a punt return for another TD in the third and then a rushing TD in the fourth. The game ended 14-40, Bulldogs.

Both teams will play away games this Friday. The Sharks will face the Spongers (1-6) in Tarpon Springs. The Bulldogs will test the winning record of the River Ridge Royal Knights (5-2) on their turf.
