DADE CITY – The Pasco Pirates put the cap on an undefeated regular season (17-0-3) Thursday by defeating the Fivay Falcons (10-4-3) in a very close and competitive contest.

Jayson Nicolette posted his 25th and 26th goals of the season on rout to the 2-1 Pirates Victory. Nicolette has racked up 75 points this year in 15 games. Along with the 26 goals Nicolette has posted 23 assists for a 5 points per game average.

After a scoreless first half Pasco managed a 2-on-1 break. The original shot was stopped by Falcons Keeper Justin Benson, but the rebound came directly to Nicolette who put in in the net for the game’s opening score.

Less than 5 minutes later, in the 52nd minute, The Falcons struck in the left corner of the net past Pirates Keeper Augustus Huff to knot the score at 1-all. The tie lasted less than ten minutes thanks to Nicolette’s second tally of the game from 20 yards on a feed from Alexandro Montes-Del Torres. Mario Garcia had the other assist for Pasco on the first Nicolette score.

The Falcons will begin their District playoff campaign against rival Hudson at home Monday night. Pasco will have to wait for an opponent thanks to a first round bye on Monday.
