New Port Richey – The Wesley Chapel Wildcats (9-7, 5-5) challenged the Gulf Buccaneers (1-18, 1-11) at their home field for a second match up between the two teams for the week.
The Buccaneers would be the first to put up points starting with a single run in the third and two more in the fourth. Wildcats to put up two of their own in the fifth. A series of Errors, stolen bases, a walk, and even a wild pitch, give the Wildcats the advantage as they stack another seven points in the sixth inning.
Austin Coultas singles then steals second. Jesse Rhodes lines out and Coultas Scores after tagging up. Zazh Showalter and Ethan Jones score on a wild pitch. Jackson Chanski hits a ground ball and reaches on error, Yo Gomez scores. A Stafford singles a hard ground ball to center field, Chanski scores. Thomas Byron hits a hard ground ball to center and reaches on error, is caught running to third. Austin Stafford and AJ Pabon score. Score at the end of the sixth 9-4.
The Wildcats racked up five more points in the seventh inning. A Showalter ground ball to right scores Coultas and Rhodes. A Gomez double to right scores Showalter. Chanski singles to right also and scores Gomez. Pabon doubles on a fly ball to right field scoring Stafford.
The Wesley Chapel Wildcats (10-7, 5-5) would go on to face the Wiregrass Ranch Bulls (12-9, 1-3) Friday 5/3. The Buccaneers (1-19, 1-11) would head out to play against Weeki Wachi (9-15, 1-9) Thursday 5/2.
